How much does laser rust removal cost?
Every job is quoted from your photos, because size, rust level, coating and access all change the work. Send photos for a quote. We reply within one business day.
What can laser cleaning remove?
Most rust, mill scale and many paints and coatings on steel. Results depend on the material, the coating and its thickness, so we confirm from your photos before you commit.
What can't it do?
It will not fill pitting or repair cracks, rot or missing metal. Some coatings and materials are not a good fit. If that is the case with your project, we tell you up front.
Will it damage my parts?
Laser cleaning works on the surface without blasting media at the part. Thin, delicate or precision parts need extra care, so tell us about them when you ask for a quote and we will tell you if a part is not a good fit.
Will the metal rust again?
Yes, bare steel starts to rust again if it is left unprotected. Plan to prime, paint or coat soon after cleaning.
Do I need to prep anything?
Knock off loose dirt and heavy grease if you can. Parts that are taken off the vehicle or machine are easier to clean on all sides. We will tell you what helps when we quote.
Can I drop it off, or do you come to me?
Both. Drop off at our shop at 3175 Vermillion St, Hastings, MN, or we bring the laser to your shop, farm or yard.

Hastings, MN; Lakeland, MN; Woodbury, MN; Hudson, WI; Roberts, WI; River Falls, WI; New Richmond, WI, and nearby Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Larger jobs farther out are quoted case by case.
How long will my job take?
It depends on the size, how heavy the rust or coating is, and access. We give you an estimate with your quote.
Is laser cleaning safe?
We run the SFX SLC 2030 following the manufacturer's operating and safety procedures, inside a controlled work area with laser-rated eye protection, and with fume and fire precautions. For mobile work, we will ask you to keep people and pets out of the work area.
